President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has signed a Presidential Decree (Decree) No. 72 Year 2014 on the Use of Foreign Workers and Implementation of Education and Workforce Training Companion. This provision does not apply to the position of director and / or commissioner. That regulation also not binding on government agencies, representatives of foreign countries, and international agencies.
This policy as well set that permits Employing Foreign Workers (IMTA) will be given if the local assistant already recruited. IMTA is only valid five years, then extended by considering the labor market in Indonesia.
IMTA has the obligation does not apply to representatives of foreign countries that employ expatriates as diplomatic or consular officials, the wording of Article 8 of the presidential regulation.
