Indonesia Police Headquarters said during Lebaran, July 22 until July 29, 2014 or during the 8 days of Operation Ketupat 2014,the number of accidents decrease than last year.

Based on Data of Ketupat Operation 2014, specifically on July 29, 2014 is known to occur 188 times accidents, with 42 deaths, 76 severe injuries and 278 minor injuries.

Head of Public Information Bureau Police Headquarters General Boy Amar said when compared with last year, there was a decrease in the number of accidents by 14 percent within 8 days of Ketupat Operation.

"At the same time, 8 days of Operation Ketupat 1,584 accidents occurred in 2014. Meanwhile, in 2013, 1,832 accidents occurred. So down 14 percent, or 248 events," said Boy, Thursday (31/07/2014).

Then to the victims died in the year 2014 there is 352, while in 2013 there are 382 fell 8 percent or 32 victims.

For seriously injured casualties in 2014 there was 541 casualties, in the year 2013 there are 616 victims. So that the number fell 12 percent or as much as 75 victims.

Minor injuries in 2014 there are 2,010 victims, in 2013 there are 2,300 victims. Down 13 percent or as much as 290 victims.

"The accident is still dominated by two-wheeled vehicles, which were 1941 incident," Boy added.
