Bank Indonesia will issue new money, this Indonesian rupiah will be named the unitary state of Republic of Indonesia money will officially circulate at the Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2014.

Tirta explain the unitary state of Republic of Indonesia money does not mean doing redenomination as reported by various news media. But just replace the old money with new design and packaging.
"Not redenomination, only the design and packaging is new, the value remains the same," he said.
Tirta also did not say the amount of money that will be published as it is still coordinating with the Ministry of Finance. So the total number of values still can not be determined.
Officially this new money will be in circulation starting on August 18, 2014 due date of August 17, 2014 is a holiday. The old money is still valid but the old money will gradually withdrawn over a period of 10 years since the new money being officially in circulation.
